PHOTOVOLTAICS - FREE ELECTRICITY FROM THE SUN !

ENERGY FROM THE SUN - EFFECTIVELY USED AND FREE OF CHARGE

Today, solar energy is an essential component of renewable energy generation. The topic of photovoltaics is also becoming increasingly important for homeowners and tenants. In Germany alone, more than 1.8 million photovoltaic systems are already converting the radiant energy of sunlight into usable solar power on many house roofs.

In principle, solar energy is quite simple: when sunlight falls on a solar cell, an electrical voltage is generated in it which is conducted via a power line to the solar generator. The generator converts the energy into direct current, which in turn is directly converted into usable alternating current via the inverter. The "solar electricity" is now either consumed directly, stored in a storage unit for later consumption, or fed into the public grid.

By installing solar panels for your home, you generate free, renewable electricity.

STRUCTURE OF A SOLAR CELL

A photovoltaic system consists of several connected components, with the solar cells forming the core. These solar cells are covered with a very thin layer of silicon which becomes conductive through light and heat. Their blue colour comes from the uppermost "anti-reflective layer" which prevents the reflection of sunlight. In two other layers, impurities of the silicon layer with phosphorus or boron create a surplus of electrons, while the rest of the cell is deficient in electrons. In this way, negative and positive poles are created in the solar cell, just like in a battery.

When the energy carriers (photons) contained in the sunlight hit the silicon of the solar cells, they release the negatively charged electrons. These are attracted to the positively charged silicon grid on the back of the solar cell. Since the built-in boundary layer prevents a direct connection, the electrons have to take the path via the current conduction. Now, they generate electricity through their movement.
